Location: Fruit Cove Baptist Church
“Fostering Hope” is a ministry of Fruit Cove Baptist Church that exists to raise awareness about vulnerable children in our community and to support foster and adoptive families. They offer prayer, support groups, wraparound care, mentorship, education, family events, and partner with local child welfare agencies. For the last few years, Christ’s Church has had the opportunity to partner with Fruit Cove and help support these amazing families.
Their Hope Resource Center, located on the Fruit Cove Baptist Church campus, is stocked with new and gently used clothing and shoes for babies, children, and teens, diapers and pull-ups of all sizes, essentials, and some equipment. Here they serve vulnerable children and families, including foster, adoptive, kinship, and families in need. If you are interested in supporting Fostering Hope, they are in need of volunteers. Volunteers must attend an initial training to be able to serve as personal shoppers for families, pray with them, and help sort and organize donations (Fruit Cove would also run a background check since foster children come into the center, and they would like volunteers to know they would be standing the entire shift). Pick up/delivery drivers with trucks or large SUVs are also always needed to help with larger, furniture donations. Finally, you can donate new or gently used clothing, diapers, wipes, and baby items. Clothing sizes range from newborn to teen/youth sizes. They prefer to keep new socks, underwear, and pajamas. You can see an updated list on their website, https://fruitcove.com/hrc/
