This "Love Jax: A Conspiracy of Kindness" initiative equips our small groups with a $50–100 seed gift (matched by participants) to execute creative, hands-on acts of service over the summer, directly channeling discipleship into visible, missional action that reflects Jesus' love in practical ways. Over the Summer there is the chance to involve entire families as part of existing groups in these projects, from planning to execution, parents and leaders model Christ-like compassion for their children, strengthening family bonds while teaching the next generation the joy of outward-focused faith. Small groups gain deeper purpose and cohesion through shared mission, often sparking new groups as participants invite neighbors, friends, or unchurched contacts to join, naturally expanding our relational reach.
These low-barrier, high-impact kindness acts will build authentic engagement with the broader Jacksonville community, meeting real needs in neighborhoods, parks, schools, and local hotspots during a season when people are more outdoors and receptive. This seems like a natural next step extension of Light Up Jax, where these same communities may have already been saturated in prayer and fertile ripe soil for a harvest crop. Ultimately, this summer push fosters a culture of missional discipleship, where believers move from Sunday gathering to everyday sending, amplifying our church's gospel witness and creating lasting stories of transformation that inspire ongoing generosity and outreach.
Have your group leader sign up here and select one of these 12 items (or come up with your own!) and communicate your plan. Cost estimates are below but a starter fund will be provided that we're hoping your group matches. If you're on your own, we'll help team you up with like minded people. Please place that you're looking for a group in your notes.
